Suspect Wanted for Fatal Hit and Run

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a fatal traffic collision in the Clairemont Mesa East area of San Diego.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at about 1:28 a.m., a 36-year-old male was riding his e- bike home from work westbound on 6900 Balboa Avenue. A vehicle, also traveling westbound, struck the bicyclist from behind. The vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene. Several parts came off the vehicle during the collision from the right-side mirror, right side front bumper and front lower grill. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators are asking the public to contact them if they can help identify the vehicle and driver.
Vehicle Description
It was determined by investigators, the parts left at the scene came from a gray Mercedes E-Class 2-door or 4-door vehicle. The vehicle will be missing the parts listed above.

The sample photo is of a 2-door. The actual vehicle is known only to be in the E-Class model family of Mercedes and could be a 2- door or 4-door.
